Tomorrow it begins.
Actually, it began back in March. 6 months of watching every weather forecast and planning every spare moment not spent at our paying professions or on family times and celebrations which just won't wait. Months of watching the budget because there are tons of things to spend money on to care for the vines and improve the place, but no income until the end.
Now we are ready - in spite of wind and rain and birds and deer and bees and wasps and cold weather - and the fruit hangs beautifully waiting to become something even better.
All that is left is preparing a nice meal with drinks, some thank you gifts and and a wine tasting to thank our generous Volunteers who will give up Saturday or Sunday (or for some, God bless them, both!) to help us bring in the harvest.
